Initial V2T Presentation:
“The John Fifteen Factor”
I believe John Fifteen and John Twenty-one are linked, in context, to one another. John fifteen tells us that if we pray according to His will that He will do it, and John twenty-one shows us how to get right with God’s purpose… stay right with God’s purpose… and what is required to be consistently relevant to our relativistic worlds.
My initial presentation to your church will be to walk your people step by step through Peter’s restoration out of John twenty-one. Peter had just quit on God, but God had not quit on Peter. Jesus was going to help Peter focus on what was necessary if he was going to be a competent soldier for the truth. The principles intertwined in this true story are powerful… and purposeful. Every time I teach this passage grown men a literally brought to tears upon realizing they are not actually participating in God’s plan as a relevant ambassador for Christ to a dying world… specifically where they live, work and play.
We will watch Peter quit on Jesus, influence others to backslide with him, admit he has no “meat” and is acting like a child, obey the voice of the Lord and catch a multitude of fish, jump in the water after fishing naked, and arrive to the shore just in time to “sup” with Jesus as He has prepared a specific meal with specific items in order to teach a specific lesson to Peter. These items, as you will see, symbolize what is necessary for any child of God to get right, stay right and fulfill the purpose of God consistently. Those items are found in verse ten, and they are: fire, coals, fish and bread. Line upon line God’s Word is showing us how to be Christians who possess “meat.” By “meat” I mean that we are consistently fishers of men, and disciplers of the fish we have been allowed by God to catch for His glory.
Every time I read verse thirteen of John twenty-one with an understanding of what God is teaching it rocks my world. They bring 153 fish to Jesus and He invited them to, “Come and dine.” This is amazing! You mean to tell me Jesus still wants to use Peter after he had quit on God? The answer Jesus gives to Peter… and us… is incredible!
The rest of the story reveals more truths about becoming relevant ambassadors for Christ to our worlds of influence. I would be honored to share these principles with your people. In verse eighteen the Bible tells us that one day people would bind Peter and take him where he doesn’t want to go. The point Jesus was making was that until we learn how to really love God, we will never be consistently relevant to our worlds. Peter finally understood that he didn’t possess the love that was necessary to impact lives, and it broke his heart (vs. 17).
The words of Jesus impacted the life of Paul to love Jesus with a Godly love. That was the only way he could Biblically “feed my sheep.” My desire is that your people will respond to the words of Jesus in like fashion and become relevant “fishers of men.”
Here is the John Fifteen Factor ministry in a nutshell:
All we ask is the opportunity to share the V2T ministry with your people. We are excited to share the ministry tools God has given us with others who choose to make a difference for eternity in the life of another. V2T can be shallow enough that a new believer will not drawn, or deep enough for a seasoned believer to scuba dive in the depths of the riches of God’s word to his heart’s content; the choice is always theirs to make.
I offer most of the following “Get Real” equipping modules free online at my facebook and wordpress web pages. It can also be done directly by email. Facebook and wordpress provide the opportunity for fellowship with others as they journey through the equipping modules together.
Lastly, I would like for you to consider implementing the “John Fifteen Factor” that God laid on my heart this past year. God has given me the blessing of a burden to equip people with relevant tools. John Fifteen states that if we ask anything according to His WILL that He WILL DO IT! As one cross references this with II Peter 3:9, you see that it is not God’s WILL that ANY should perish, but that all should come to repentance. So, if we apply this principle to our daily lives… the result will be soul’s saved. It is really that simple; it is a matter of faith. Do we believe God will really do what he said He would do?

John 15 Monthly Accountability
My request to you is this: I would like to challenge your people to commit to the “John Fifteen Factor.” I would like to ask them, after my initial presentation, if they would commit, for one year, to pray for a list of unsaved people every day, and fast for these individuals once per week. The Bible says that, “This kind cometh not but by prayer and fasting,” I believe we are living in “This Kind” of a culture today… don’t you?
Along with their personal time of prayer, fasting and ministry to those on their prayer lists, I would ask the church to provide a get-to-gether fellowship once a month for all those who made a “John Fifteen Factor” commitment. This accountability is vital. Too many times we motivate people and then don’t provide the necessary follow-up. For one full year we can encourage our people to trust God’s Word. We have not because we ask not.
The monthly “John Fifteen Factor” fellowship should consist of the following: FoodàShort 5 minute training or challenge from God’s WordàTestimonies from those who are impacting the lives of those on their lists, etc.–>Specific time (as a group or groups) of prayer for those on each of the lists.
I believe that, with loving accountability, you will see a tremendous increase in soul winning take place in that year. When God honors His Word… and He will… the real work/honor begins. That is where V2T offers help. The following pages will give you a glimpse into the ministry tools and “Get Real” equipping modules offered by V2T. It would be our honor in assisting your staff, or people to become relevant soldiers of the cross.
I am designing a Facebook page so that everyone, no matter what church they are from, can encourage one another with testimonies and prayer requests. I believe it will be 9 kinds of AMAZING watching the body of Christ fulfill thier purpose in other places around the world!
God has prepared Karen and me for such a time as this. We truly believe God has given us an understanding of the times so that we will confidently know what we ought to do… and DO IT!
